Serafima Lieberman, born in Moscow, is an opera singer trained in theater from a young age. She studied at the Russian Institute of Theater and Vocal Arts (GITIS) before continuing her studies at the École Normale de Musique in Paris and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.

Serafima Liberman was born in Moscow.
From a very young age, she studied at a theater school, developing a passion for the stage early on.
In 2017, after graduating from high school, she was admitted to the GITIS Institute of Vocal and Theatrical Arts in Moscow. There, she trained under the stage direction of Georgy Isaakyan, artistic director of the Natalia Sats Theater, and received vocal instruction from the renowned mezzo-soprano Tamara Sinyavskaya.
During her studies, she was awarded a merit scholarship by People’s Artist of Russia Lev Leshchenko for her outstanding academic performance and exemplary achievements.
In 2021, after obtaining her degree, she continued her education in Paris at the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot, where she studied with Olga Toporkova and Vladimir Chernov.
In 2022, she began a master’s program at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel, where her teachers were Efrat Ben Nun and Sofia Mazar.
That same year, she became a soloist with the Jerusalem Lyric Opera Studio.
In 2023, she won second prize at the Jerusalem International Singing Competition.
She has worked with conductors such as Ethan Schmeisser, Rani Calderon, David Stern, Zaza Azmaiparashvili, Ann-Katrin Stöcker, and Sergei Mikcheev.
Among her operatic roles, she has performed:
- Despina and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte, Mozart)
- Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Britten)
- Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus, Strauss)
- Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Bellini)
- Musetta (La Bohème, Puccini)
- Alcina (Alcina, Handel)
In 2024, she was selected to join the prestigious “Opera Fuoco” lyric academy in Paris, directed by conductor David Stern.
The same year, she made a notable debut in the role of Marikh Stela in Abesalom and Eteri by Paliashvili, at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania.
Since 2025, Serafima Liberman has been living in Paris, where she is pursuing her Artist Diploma at the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot, alongside her participation in the “Opera Fuoco” program.
